Salem Church Products (SCP) is looking for an outstanding Senior Software Engineer who thrives on building modern web applications using React, JavaScript, and Next.js. As a key member of our team, you will lead the redevelopment of an existing application into a new platform, built from the ground up. You will take ownership of creating high-quality, scalable, and secure solutions that will impact both our customers and their communities in meaningful ways.

Salem Church Products (SCP), a division of Salem Media Group, operates a network of e-commerce websites that equip church leaders and pastors with resources to help do the work of ministry. Our websites offer products to churches, which include professional digital resources for worship, sermon preparation, children’s ministry, and staffing solutions. We are passionate about equipping local churches and the leaders that serve them. 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain impactful web applications using React, Next.js, and other relevant technologies. 
  • Collaborate with the team to design the technical approach to features that enhance the user experience and performance. 
  • Work alongside stakeholders and team members to define technical solutions and develop detailed plans for execution. 
  • Participate in every phase of the software development lifecycle, from planning, testing to deployment, ensuring high-quality delivery. 
  • Thrives in a collaborative team environment with a natural ability to take initiative. ● Ensure web applications are fast, responsive, and optimized for performance across all devices and platforms. 
  • Maintain clean, well-organized code with version control best practices to ensure ongoing reliability and scalability. 

Qualifications

Required Skills and Qualifications: 

  • Proficiency in React, Next.js, and JavaScript 
  • Experience with Tailwind CSS 
  • Experience with MySQL or Postgres 
  • Experience with Prisma 
  • Experience with Stripe and other payment processors 
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a strong work ethic
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written 
  • Works well in a team environment, collaboration, leadership abilities 
  • Regular and predictable attendance

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience with custom Shopify development 
  • Familiarity with AWS, CI/CD pipelines, and server architecture 
  • Familiarity with Retool and low-code tooling 
  • Familiarity with Webflow or Framer

Annual salary range: $90,000 – $115,000.
