Overview

One of America’s fastest growing TV news channels, the Salem News Channel, is seeking an upbeat and highly organized Sales Manager. The Sales Manager's primary role is to impactfully lead a nationwide sales effort to effectively sell our first in class CTV/OTT 24/7 live linear nationwide news channel and associated VOD and digital properties.

 

Overview:

Under the direction of SNC’s Vice President/General Manager, the Sales Manager directs and leads a team of Salem News Channel Account Executives and additionally works with Salem Media Group’s national sales team.

Responsibilities

  • Construct effective strategies and tactics and adeptly guide sales team to meet revenue goals
  • Continuous communication with management, operations & programming teams, account executives, agencies, and clients
  • Provide insight and strategy to help coordinate sales strategies and apply shrewd pricing and inventory management
  • Grow existing and develop additional revenue streams, new business, video on demand; lead the sales for our high-profile on-air hosts, news, special events
  • Possess thorough knowledge of all products offered as well as those of competitors; maintain visibility in the national sales and buying communities
  • Demonstrate leadership within the sales department and collaborate with other company sales managers as needed to help achieve revenue goals and objectives
  • Execute plans, strategies and other assigned duties set forth by VP/GM
  • Be an active ambassador and proponent for Salem Media Group’s positive work culture.

Qualifications

  • Sales Management experience in Broadcast and/or OTT/CTV at a television station, FAST channel, or distributor, and/or streaming video platform, agency, and/or national rep firm with a track record of superior performance.
  • Impeccable character; honesty, integrity, standard of excellence
  • Prior experience with recruiting, teaching, and training account executives along with a proven ability to motivate and accelerate sales team growth
  • Motivational leader who emphasizes strong morale and energy for their team
  • Full understanding of viewership measurement and analysis and effective inventory pricing
  • Highly proficient in the digital and CTV/OTT space
  • Candidate must be creative and develop and execute new ideas to expand revenue; possess successful track record of negotiation with advertising agencies
  • Skilled communicator: ability to establish and maintain customer relationships and possess expert presentation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and persuasive skills; ability to work with a range of personalities, excellent at forming and sustaining relationships

Compensation

$100,000 – $150,000 plus generous commission and bonus structure
