Part-time Board Operator
 
Have you ever dreamt of working behind the scenes at a radio station? Love microphones, mixers, and the magic of live broadcasts? Salem Media Group Minneapolis has an immediate opening for a Part-Time Board Operator for our four-station cluster – and we want you on our team!

 

Responsibilities

Why This Role Rocks:
 
• Flexible Schedule: Work ~10–15 hours per week, 2-3 days a week — perfect for students, creatives, retired ham operators or anyone who loves radio!  
• Hands-On Experience: From live board engineering to voice tracking, you’ll get your hands on real equipment and develop your on-air chops.
• Extra Perks: Additional opportunities for production work, audio editing, and more — all while learning from seasoned radio pros.
 
What You’ll Do:
 
• Deliver live on-air weather updates with confidence.
• Record voice overs for other programming and commercials
• Operate and engineer the live broadcast boards, keeping shows smooth and professional.
• Execute station formats to keep our listeners engaged.
• Maintain accurate program logs, edit live spots, and handle various production and commercial audio tasks.
• Operate the board for live sports broadcasts 

 

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:
 
• Strong experience with Windows-based computer systems.
• Experience and interest in mixing audio and being creative with our on-air content
• College education preferred but not required — your passion and skill matter most!
• Flexibility for some weekend and evening shifts — radio never sleeps, and neither do we.
• Proven track record of reliability, attention to detail, and punctuality.
