Overview

Salem News Channel is seeking a skilled and motivated Radio/TV Audio Engineer to primarily support our nationally syndicated talk show, “The Chris Stigall Show” as well as assist other shows and network productions as needed. This position will also be expected to assist in social media content creation and publishing. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a fast-paced, high-energy broadcast environment in a key technical and creative role.

Responsibilities

  • Operate the broadcast board during live and recorded segments of The Chris Stigall Show, and any other productions originating from the Arlington studio
  • Track and execute live reads, embedded content, and sponsorships in real time
  • Produce, organize, and upload elements into the broadcast automation system
  • Edit and mix promos, commercials, and show highlights for on-air and digital use
  • Collaborate with production staff and talent to support remote broadcasts and live events
  • Participate in daily show meetings; contribute creative ideas and segment concepts
  • Edit compelling clips for use in social media, podcast platforms, and digital channels
  • Create and manage media assets, including intros, bumpers, and stingers for the show
  • Produce promotional content including image campaigns, proof-of-performance promos, daily topicals, and sales spots.
  • Collaborate with marketing and news team members to gather content and help keep the social calendar filled with scheduled promotions.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an audio engineer in radio, podcasting, TV, or Live venues
  • Comfortable routing and patching audio cables
  • Proficient Adobe creative suite (Adobe Audition, Premier Pro, Photoshop, Etc.)
  • Familiarity with digital automation systems (e.g., WideOrbit, ENCO, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of broadcast workflows and technical standards
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a deadline-driven environment
  • Team player with strong communication and organizational skills
  • Willingness to support occasional remote or off-hours work
