Overview

Salem Media Group Pittsburgh offers an exciting opportunity for a General Sales Manager to join our dynamic and forward-thinking company. The ideal candidate will display strategic expertise by leading and building out a team of sellers (Media Strategists) and executing a media sales strategy that delivers customer solutions through an integrated suite of platforms.  This position reports to the Regional Director of Sales.

Responsibilities

  • The General Sales Manager works with the sales team on developing proposals and digital strategies, going on presentation meetings, and developing opportunities that drive customer results.
  • Responsible for hiring and training Media Strategist for future growth.
  • Responsible for working with the account management teams on optimization strategies to ensure campaign delivery and attainment of customer goals.
  • Attending and leading weekly sales meetings providing product training, client success stories.
  • Provides on–going recommendations to Media Strategists and clients of our vast product offerings. 
  • Manages digital revenue performance of the sales team while collaborating closely with the Regional Director of Sales.
  • Oversight of internal workflow process and revenue forecasts 

Qualifications

  • Must have 2+ years of media-related experience selling digital platforms as well as previous sales management experience.
  • Prior radio, TV or other traditional media experience preferred but not required.
  • Extensive knowledge of digital sales processes, digital platforms, technical markets, distribution channels, buying patterns, and budgeting.
  • A proven track record of strong digital sales management and effective closing skills.
  • History of success in a goal-oriented, highly accountable environment through strategic thinking, tactical implementation, and effectively managing multiple projects.
  • A confident personality and sense of urgency while being a creative and innovative thinker.
  • The willingness to embrace change, encourage innovation, and solve problems creatively.
